Our goal is to provide our visitors with the best experience possible. To prepare you for your visit, we have put together a list of frequently asked questions.
What are the Museum’s hours and days of operation?
The Museum’s hours are Monday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Museum is open Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. It is closed one day in the spring for the annual wine event and one day in the fall for the annual gala. The AutoNation IMAX Theater is open every day of the year including evenings.
How can I buy tickets to the Museum?
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Box Office or by calling our reservations department at 954.713.0930.
How can I buy tickets to the AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater?
Tickets for documentary films and Hollywood films can be purchased at the Box Office or by calling our reservations department at 954.713.0930. Tickets for Hollywood films can also be purchased online.
Where can I park?
The Arts & Entertainment Garage is located across the street from the Museum. There are also private lots available nearby. For more parking information, please go to our Parking page.
How long does it take to explore the Museum?
The Museum has more than 200 interactive exhibits located on two floors plus a different traveling exhibit three times per year. You should allow at least two hours to explore. Add another hour if you plan to watch a documentary IMAX film. Hollywood films are a minimum of two hours long. Of course, don’t forget to allow time for lunch and a stop at the Explore Store!
Is the Museum for children only?
The Museum’s interactive exhibits can be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages. The Discovery Center within the Museum is specifically designed for children under the age of seven.
Are unaccompanied children allowed in the Museum or AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater?
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent.
Are luggage and backpacks allowed?
Luggage and backpacks are not permitted in the Museum. Luggage, backpacks and over-sized handbags are not permitted in the AutoNation IMAX Theater. Luggage storage is not available on site. A limited number of small lockers are located next to the IMAX SNAX Concession Stand for 50 cents per use (coins required.) Management reserves the right to inspect all bags.
Is there food service on site?
The IMAX SNAX Concession Stand sells a limited menu of grab-and-go sandwiches. It also sells chips, bottled soda, water and juice, boxed candy; snacks; and fresh-popped popcorn. A small number of dining tables are available. There are also picnic tables outside in the Grand Atrium.
Are food and beverages allowed in the Museum or AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater?
Food and beverages are not permitted in the Museum. Only popcorn, snacks and beverages purchased at the IMAX SNAX Concession Stand are permitted in the IMAX Theater.
Do you have a gift store?
Yes. The Explore Store offers a unique selection of merchandise for gifts and souvenirs and is located outside in the Grand Atrium.
Does the Museum provide wheelchairs?
Wheelchairs are not available.
Is the IMAX Theater wheelchair accessible?
The IMAX Theater is accessible on the second floor level for wheelchair customers and others with special access needs . Wheelchair and special access needs customers are permitted to have one companion with them. Please ask for the Theater Manager or IMAX usher who will provide direction to the second floor.
Does the Museum have Wi-Fi?
Yes, the Museum offers free Wi-Fi for visitors.
Can I take photographs and video?
The taking of photographs and video for non-commercial purposes is permitted in the Museum. Commercial photographers must obtain prior permission. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 954.713.0904. Photographs and recording of any kind are strictly prohibited in the IMAX Theater.
Is smoking allowed?
The Museum is a non-smoking facility. Smoking, tobacco products and e-cigarettes are not allowed in the Museum or IMAX Theater. Florida’s enclosed workplaces, including restaurants and public places, are 100% smoke free as of July 1, 2003, as a result of a State of Florida constitutional amendment.
What is the Museum’s service animal policy?
We comply with all ADA requirements and accept service animals as defined by the ADA. Service animals are defined as dogs or miniature horses that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Emotional Support Animals (ESA) are not allowed as they are not classified as service animals by the ADA.
Are costumes allowed?
Costumes are permitted for special events, e.g. Hollywood film openings and Halloween events. All costumes must be G rated. No masks are permitted with the exception of Museum approved cosplayers. Absolutely no weapons or props that look like weapons are allowed. If your costume hinders your vision or movement in any way, you should have a friend or “handler” with you at all times who can move and see freely. We reserve the right to deem a costume as unacceptable and to request the wearer make modifications as necessary, change out of the costume entirely into more appropriate clothing, or require the wearer to leave the facility.
Is there a Lost and Found department?
Yes. Found items are turned into our Security office. Please call 954-467-6637, ext. 104.
What are the Museum’s conduct guidelines?
The use of cell phones and electronic devices or recording of any kind are not allowed in the AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater. Visitors who violate this policy will be asked to leave the theater.
We reserve the right to terminate the visit of any individual or group who is inadequately supervised or fails to conform to good standards of behavior or vandalizes or misuses Museum property.
Wheeled devices including skate boards, hover boards, roller skates, bicycles, wagons and scooters are prohibited on Museum property. Motorized ADA assistive devices, wheelchairs, walkers and strollers are exempt from this rule.
Sleeping or lying down within Museum premises is not allowed.
Possession of weapons of any kind on Museum property is strictly prohibited.

ADMISSION & REFUND POLICY
A valid exhibits ticket is required for admission to the Museum exhibits floors.
Same-day exhibits re-admission is allowed with a valid ticket.
A valid IMAX ticket is required for admission to the AutoNation IMAX Theater.
The AutoNation IMAX Theater is a general admission theater and seating is provided on a first-come, first-seated basis.
The AutoNation IMAX Theater’s doors open approximately 20 minutes prior to show time so please plan accordingly.
Priority Access ticket holders should be on line 30 minutes prior to show time.
Will Call tickets must be picked up by the buyer who will be required to present a valid photo I.D.
IMAX shows may sell out and admission cannot be guaranteed unless you purchase advance tickets.
All sales are final.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
