Accessibility

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, persons needing a special accommodation to participate in museum activities should contact the Museum’s Reservations Manager at 954.713.0928 no later than seven days prior to their visit.  If hearing impaired, call the TTY phone (954)779-7219 for assistance.

The AutoNation IMAX Theater offers two types of hearing assistive devices:

  • Dolby Fidelio is a wireless audio system that delivers both Hearing Impaired (HI) for hard-of-hearing movie patrons, and Visually Impaired Narration (VI) for visually impaired patrons.  Users control the volume on the headset, allowing them to get the best experience possible.
  • Dolby® CaptiView is a personal in-theater closed captioning system for hearing-impaired movie patrons. The Dolby CaptiView viewing device consists of a small OLED display on a bendable support arm that fits into the theater seat cup holder.

Note:  Please ask for the Theater Manager if you wish to check out an assistive device for your IMAX show.  Please make your request a minimum of 30 minutes prior to show time to allow time to set up your device and synchronize it with the movie soundtrack.  You will be required to provide your driver’s license, which will be returned to you after the show.

The IMAX theater is accessible to wheel chair customers and others with special access needs on the second floor level.  Special access needs customers are permitted to have one companion with them.  Please ask for the Theater Manager or IMAX usher who will provide direction to the second floor.

The Museum complies with all ADA requirements and accepts service animals as defined by the ADA. Service animals are defined as dogs or miniature horses that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Emotional Support Animals (ESA) are not allowed as they are not classified as service animals by the ADA.
