Now Open through September 3, 2018
Do you have what it takes to be a hero? How would you react in a high-pressure scenario with people’s lives at stake? Rescue operations require a high level of training and are undertaken by specialist rescue squads. Rescue, the exhibition, delves into this world, exploring topics related to rescue techniques, emergency supplies and equipment. ‘Rescue’ puts you in charge as you discover what it’s like to be involved in land, sea and air rescues. Visitors can engage with exciting hands-on and full-body experiences such as firefighting, surf rescue and sea life survival. Take control of a full-size helicopter simulator to get a bird’s eye view of a rescue scene and use infrared cameras to look for heat signals. Navigate a jet ski around obstacles as you search for a swimmer washed out to sea or experience what it’s like to find your way through a smoke-filled room, and use fire extinguishers to put out fires. Interactive exhibits will teach you about medicine, search techniques, radio communication, rescue supplies and equipment such as the Jaws of Life.
