Immerse yourself in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with nighttime adventures and overnights at MODS! Have an experience of a lifetime that kids and grown-ups will remember forever!

Dates: September 7 (Pokémon Night)

Calling all Pokémon Trainers (ages 6 to 12)! Get ready for an electrifying night of fun and adventure at our Pokémon Night. Whether you’re a seasoned master or just starting your journey, there’s something exciting for everyone. Dress up as your favorite Pokémon or trainer and dive into thrilling activities that feel like stepping right into the world of Pokémon.

  • Epic Trading Card Battle: Get ready to “Charm-ander” the opponents! Bring cards and challenge fellow trainers to epic battles or trade to build the ultimate deck.
  • Chat with the Pokédex Expert: Get all your questions answered by a Pokémon knowledge expert, Kyle from Spinout Cards!
  • Build Your Own Creatures: Use that creativity and get ready to “Bulba-saur”! Use Sphero Bots to create unique Pokémon and battle them against others!
  • Monster Scavenger Hunt: You’ve “Gotta Catch ‘Em All!” Embark on a thrilling Pokémon Hunt throughout the exhibits. Can all be found?
  • Colored Dragon Flame Demo: Light up the night with this awe-inspiring live demonstration of a dragon’s flame! Watch staff bring Flareon’s powers to life with chemistry!
  • Picture with Pikachu: Make sure you snap a selfie and “Pika-pose” with the star of the show—Pikachu!

Space is limited. Advanced registration is required.

*Registration is open through Friday the week of the event at 3 p.m. Registration is not confirmed until full payment is received and spaces cannot be held. Subject to change or cancellation based on registration minimums of eight (8) children.

**Late pickup fee: $2 per minute after 9 p.m.

Sleep at the Museum!
From 6:30 p.m. – 8 a.m. the next morning

Great for Groups
Enjoy exclusive access to two floors of immersive exhibits before rolling out the sleeping bags for a unique night at the Museum. The evening also includes themed activities and pizza or sandwich platters for dinner.

All groups require one chaperone (21 years or older) for every 10 children participating.

Minimum:
45 children and 5 adults

Maximum:

Learners will journey through the night sky in our portable planetarium and zoom through the galaxy as we look at constellations, planets and beyond.

Cost: $245 for two (2) 45-minute sessions.

*NOTE: Activity requires three (3) weeks of advanced notice.

Engineer Frontiers (Adapted for all grade levels.)
Build, create and innovate the evening away. Learners will use the design process to solve real-world problems in our Makerspace, The Hangar.

Night in the Everglades (Adapted for all grade levels.)
The Everglades is our backyard and this adventure will let your learners explore what makes this place so special. Activities include meeting MODS animal ambassadors and learning about animal habitats.

Space Exploration (Adapted for all grade levels.)
Blast off in this overnight filled with intergalactic fun. Learners will build rockets and experiment just like planetary geologists.

  • Museum of Discovery and Science requires a minimum of 50 paid participants (including chaperones) to conduct an overnight.
  • Maximum capacity is 150 participants (including chaperones).
  • The Museum reserves the right to cancel or postpone overnights due to insufficient booking, scheduling conflicts or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • To meet the minimum number, we reserve the right to combine groups from similar organizations (i.e. multiple Girl Scout troops can be combined for one overnight). The Museum will not combine groups from different organizations.
  • All campers must be at least five years old.
  • Sleeping bag or air mattress
  • Pillow
  • Warm night clothes
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Slippers (footwear is required at all times)
  • Flashlight
  • Please do not wear Crocs™, flip-flops or sandals*
  • Microwave popcorn
  • Televisions or radios
  • Heavy or awkward appliances
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Electrical appliances
  • Electronic games
  • Sterno or cooking appliances
  • Valuable items

* For safety reasons, it is important that these items are not worn or brought to the Museum during your Overnight Adventure.

Deposit:
A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total amount of the overnight is required to secure the overnight date. Reservations without paid deposits are subject to cancellation. Deposits can be made by credit card or check.

Cancelling/Rescheduling Fee:
If groups cancel or reschedule the overnight a $75 rescheduling fee will be applied. Please note that rescheduling cannot be guaranteed due to limited availability. If the reservation is cancelled 14 days or less before the visit, no refunds will be issued. No refunds will be issued for a no-show and the group will be charged an additional fee of $75.
