Makerspace Themes:
It’s Electric
Spark curiosity with the science of circuits! Learners will explore the flow of electricity, tinker with simple electronics and engage in hands-on STEAM challenges that power up
their understanding of how modern technology works—blending science, engineering, art and design in electrifying ways.
Forces in Flight
How do we soar through the air? Learners will explore the science of forces and motion as they design and test flying creations that take to the skies.
Future Builders
What does it take to build a better world? Through exploring character strengths, learners will discover how everyday choices help build a stronger future. Acting as city planners and community leaders, learners will design resilient, thriving communities that respond to the challenges of South Florida’s unique environment.
Bring the future of learning directly to your classroom with MODS’ AI STEMobile Workshops. These interactive, age-appropriate experiences help learners understand the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, including what AI is, what it can and cannot do and how it can be used thoughtfully and responsibly. Through hands-on activities, learners explore patterns, data, predictions, machine learning and real-world applications of AI while building critical thinking and future-ready STEM skills.
(Minimum two – 45-minute sessions, one class, up to 25 learners)
- Cost: $600
- Each Additional Session: $275
EARLY CHILDHOOD: PRE-K-KINDERGARTEN
Learners are introduced to basic AI concepts through playful exploration. Activities help learners understand how AI can recognize patterns, identify images and respond to spoken instructions while discovering that AI is a human-made tool that learns from the information it is given.
GRADES K-2
Learners explore what artificial intelligence is, how machines learn and how AI makes predictions. Activities introduce the difference between natural and human-made, or artificial, things while connecting human senses to the sensors used by technology.
GRADES 3-5
Learners discover what AI is and what it is not while exploring the three key parts of machine learning: collecting data, training an algorithm and making predictions. Learners “train” a model using examples and observe how the quality and quantity of information can affect results.
GRADES 6-8
Learners investigate how artificial intelligence works, how machines learn and how AI can be used as a tool. Activities encourage learners to think critically about how AI is created, how it is used and its ethical impact on the world.
GRADES 9-12
Learners analyze and classify examples of AI while distinguishing between classification, prediction and generative capabilities. Activities encourage reflection on the ethical, societal and real-world impacts of artificial intelligence and generative AI.
Get ready to blast off on an out-of-this-world adventure! The GeoDome Planetarium transports learners to the far reaches of the universe with a dazzling 360-degree immersive experience. Featuring advanced projection, captivating music and interactive storytelling, this mobile planetarium transforms any space into a star-filled sky. With seating for up to 25 stargazers—including wheelchair-accessible options—it’s the perfect blend of education and entertainment.
Small Group Sessions
DISCOVER THE COSMOS WITH OUR GEODOME PLANETARIUM!
Learners will experience an exhilarating cosmic journey with the Museum’s state-of-the-art portable GeoDome Planetarium!
Early Childhood Pre-K Through Kindergarten
ONE WORLD, ONE SKY
Learners will join Elmo, Big Bird and Hu Hu Zhu in a magical planetarium adventure, exploring the night sky, taking an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the moon, counting stars and learning basic principles of math, geometry, astronomy, physics and cultural connections.
In partnership with

Grades 1-2
JOURNEY THROUGH THE STARS!
Learners will explore the night sky, discovering bright stars, the moon, and planets while learning how bodies in space move in predictable patterns.
Grades 3-5
SOLAR SYSTEM ADVENTURE
Learners will explore rocky planets, gas giants, moons, asteroids and more, understanding our cosmic neighborhood in relation to Earth.
Grades 6-12
STELLAR EXPLORERS
Learners will journey through the life cycle of a star, including stellar nebulae, supernovae, dwarfs, giants and main-sequence stars, to understand how elements are formed.
Accommodates up to 25 stargazers, wheelchair accessible.
Additional Cost: $750 for two (2) 45-minute sessions/$325 per additional session. Maximum
