It was an encore epicurean evening of fine food and wine at the Museum of Discovery and Science’s (MODS) 28th Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits & Culinary Celebration on October 18 as the South Florida community pledged its support for science education, innovation and exploration programs.
Guests indulged in a legendary Grand Tasting featuring a sampling of more than 50 wines and spirited libations courtesy of exclusive beverage sponsor, Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. A variety of craft beers flowed freely on tap in the Beer Garden from Florida’s favorite breweries and beyond, courtesy of Gold Coast Beverage.
Guests also were treated to scrumptious small plates and desserts from South Florida’s leading restaurants including Another Fare to Remember, Arc Broward, B & D Trap (BBQ), The Cake Lovers, Chez Gourmet, CrepeMaker, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop, Frank Pepe Pizzeria of Plantation, Fresh Kitchen, Hoffman’s Chocolates, JC Beans Café, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Dick’s Last Resort, La Mexicana Taco Bar, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Oceanic, Original Fat Cats, Red Chair Catering, Seasons 52, Shooters, Swirl Wine Bistro, Tarpon River Brewing, Tasteful Thoughts and Union Kitchen & Bar.
“This premier event generates funding for our access programs & bolsters our ability to spread STEM education throughout the region,” said Joseph P. Cox, president & CEO of MODS. “We are grateful for the generous support of our sponsors, guests, restaurants and spirit purveyors who supported our 28th Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary celebration.”
During the event, guests voted for their favorite beverages and bites. This event’s People’s Choice Beverage Winner was Rock N Roll Tequila (moving up from third place last event), with second place going to Wagner Family Wine and third place to American Fine Wine Competition.
Another Fare to Remember took home top honors, again, as the People’s Choice Culinary Winner with Original Fat Cats coming in second place and Shooters in third place.
“Bank of America has celebrated alongside the Museum of Discovery & Science for 28 years as part of our shared mission to inspire learning,” said Lori Chevy, president, Bank of America Fort Lauderdale. “The funds raised during this event directly support MODS’ efforts to provide STEM education to underserved communities in Broward County.”
In between the voting and bites, guests bid on an array of silent auction luxury items including travel getaways, local entertainment packages, celebrity sports memorabilia and more.
