Camp 71
June 9 (One-Day Camp – Offsite)
Approximately 71% of the earth’s surface is made up of water. After celebrating World Oceans Day, join the MODS Squad to dive deep into Florida’s saltwater habitats. Estuaries are crucial habitats for young marine life in Florida. Learn about the components of an estuary and assemble an edible estuary. End your day with an engaging discussion about sea turtles.
PLEASE NOTE: This day camp will be held at the Marine Environmental Education Center at the Carpenter House at 4414 N Surf Rd, Hollywood, FL 33019. Parents should park across the building and bring your camper to the front door. Drop-off is at 9:30 a.m. and camp will run until 4 p.m. Aftercare will be from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about our local sea turtle conservation program, meet “Capitan” the ambassador green sea turtle and even participate in a feeding.
