Blast off into creativity. Builders ages 6 – 12 are invited to bring a custom LEGO® spacecraft from home or build one on-site to enter the Junior Galaxy Explorer search.

Entries will be judged by a panel that includes a LEGOLAND® Master Model Builder, an expert from Blue Origin’s Club for the Future and one MODS representative who will evaluate bold concepts, original builds, and designs that feel ready for liftoff.

One winner will represent MODS at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort’s newest attraction grand opening, receive exclusive prizes and enjoy a family stay at LEGOLAND® Hotel.

Creativity & Originality: Judges look for imaginative ideas that feel uniquely the child’s own, whether it’s a spacecraft designed to enter a new galaxy, support an inventive mission or reveal an unexpected character. Strong entries show playful thinking, creative use of LEGO elements, and details that go beyond standard builds or storylines.

Storytelling & Mission Concept: Judges look for a clear space mission or storyline with a beginning, middle and end. The best submissions have a fun, adventurous spirit that feels like stepping into a LEGO universe, and the child’s voice comes through clearly.

Galaxy Theme Connection: Entries should tie strongly to the Junior Galaxy Explorer concept, incorporating rockets, planets, galaxies, astronauts or other space-inspired ideas. Fictional or imaginative concepts are absolutely welcome, as long as they still connect to space exploration and curiosity.

LEGO® Building Skill: For build submissions, judges look at structure, stability, technique, and level of detail. This includes features like engines, cockpits, environments, characters and how creative pieces are used. The build should align with the child’s mission or story.

Effort, Execution & Presentation: Judges consider how thoughtfully the entry is put together, how clearly the child explains their idea, how complete the build or story feels and how clearly the mission is expressed.

Enthusiasm & Explorer Spirit: Judges look for excitement and passion for LEGO building and space exploration. Personality, humor and curiosity should shine through. The strongest entries embody the spirit of a future Galaxy Explorer and inspire others to dream big.
