App-titude Internships
INSPIRING FUTURE SCIENTISTS
The App-titude Internship Program is one of the many programs offered by The Salah Foundation STEM Center for Education and Career Development. school students to careers in computer science and engineering.
Learners will advance their STEM education and engage in a coding, animation and app development curriculum strategically designed to connect them to science and technology at MODS. Learners will work with innovative technology to gain skills in spatial computing.
Learners also will earn college credit, volunteer service hours and
a mini-scholarship. Throughout this two-year program, they will
meet at MODS a minimum of two times per month and also
participate in Florida Atlantic University College of Engineering
and Computer Science’s three-week, dual-enrollment course in the
summer.
Broward County students entering their Junior year in August 2020 are invited to apply for a two-year internship that will provide an opportunity to earn volunteer service hours, college credit, and a stipend while advancing their knowledge in STEM education.
The program begins in the Fall of 2021 and runs through May 2023 at the Museum of Discovery and Science. Students will meet at the Museum a minimum of two times per month and also participate in Florida Atlantic University College of Engineering and Computer Science’s three week, dual-enrollment course in Summer 2020.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications and proof of eligibility are required. Applicants must be entering junior year of high school in Broward County in August 2020. Student must have and maintain a 3.0 unweighted/state cumulative high school GPA and achieve all of the stated minimum scores on the following. Tests may not be mixed and matched.

Application and Information
The application period is May through September and is open to
all Broward County sophomores. The program runs throughout
