Celebrate the power of play, imagination and exploration at Gabby’s Dollhouse MEOWseum Discovery Days
“Hey Gabby, take us to the museum!” On August 9 & 10, Gabby’s Dollhouse MEOWseum Discovery Days arrive at MODS for a purr-fectly MEOWgical time! Produced in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation and the Association of Children’s Museums and locally presented by Chewy VetCare, this limited-time event based on the internationally-recognized early childhood series streaming on Netflix, combining live action and animation to transport viewers into a whimsical world filled with adorable cat characters, is sure to sell out! Families can look forward to a meet-and-greet with a costumed character version of Gabby, the show’s beloved central figure, and paws-on activities including MerCat’s Water Walking Spa, the Hamster Kitty Craft, an Egg Carton Garden make-and-take, a Glass Xylophone demonstration, cozy pop-up storytime nooks, a museum-wide scavenger hunt to find Gabby’s friends and MORE!. Gabby’s Dollhouse MEOWseum Discovery Days are included with general admission. Museum members receive free entry. Catch Expedition: Dinosaur – Rise of the Mammals before it goes extinct!
Now is your last chance to roar with giants while uncovering the mysteries of Earth’s greatest transformation on an epic journey through final days of the dinosaurs during Expedition: Dinosaur – Rise of the Mammals! This captivating traveling exhibit takes you through the moments before, during and after the extinction event that ended the age of the dinosaurs. Guests will marvel at life-size animatronic dinosaurs and early mammals, complete with realistic movements and sounds, and delve into fascinating educational and interactive hands-on activities, including cutting-edge paleontology experiences as they journey through extinction, evolution and resilience. Developed by Stage Nine Exhibits and locally sponsored by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, the exhibit runs through September 1, 2025. MODS’ don’t miss dinosaur-themed IMAX® films, include T. It’s a summer of dinosaurs at MODS! Embrace the creative elements of STEAM with the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Coloring Contest. Download the coloring book from mods.org/expeditiondinosaur to customize your creatures, tear them out and scan them into the display in the Expedition: Dinosaur – Rise of the Mammals exhibit. A Meteoric Good Time Awaits
Science and fun collide during Roar and Explore Weekends through August, presented in conjunction with Expedition: Dinosaur – Rise of the Mammals. Kids can dig for fossils like a paleontologist, uncover the secrets of how dinosaurs evolved into the animals we know today and explore the incredible story of the extinction event that reshaped life on Earth. Get hands-on by making your own shark tooth necklace and investigating prehistoric ecosystems. Meet living dinosaur descendants in thrilling animal encounters, discover the tools and techniques scientists use to uncover ancient secrets and even step into the shoes of a paleontologist in the Dino Dig Pit. Little ones can hatch dinosaur eggs, create fossils and bring dino puppets to life in fun activities just for them. It’s a dino-mite journey full of discovery, science and excitement for all ages! You’re Going to Need a Bigger Screen!
Whether you’re in an epic battle for the universe (or your life), racing to beat the clock, or just looking to hit all the right notes, you’re going to need a bigger screen. The AutoNation® IMAX® 3D Theater, the largest screen in South Florida and one of the only theaters in the world to offer 2D and 3D IMAX® laser projection, is now showing The Fantastic Four: First Steps with F1®: THE MOVIE, revving its engines once more on August 8. If music is your motivation, the cult classic films The Grateful Dead Movie opens on August 14, while Prince – Sign O’ The Times opens on August 28. Weapons, opening August 8, will leave you on the edge of your seat, while the Black Swan: 15th Anniversary Exclusive dances onto the giant IMAX screen for the first time on August 22. And, if you thought it was safe to go back in the water, think again, as Bruce, the vengeful Great White, returns larger-than-life in Jaws 50th Anniversary celebratory showings opening August 28. Experience unlimited summer fun with the South Florida Adventure Pass and enjoy unlimited admission to MODS plus Butterfly World, Flamingo Gardens and Sawgrass Recreation Park through September 30, 2025. At $60 plus tax per adult ages 13+ and $50 plus tax per child (ages 3-12), this pass grants unlimited admission to each attraction.
