What is Museums for All?
Museums for All is a program that provides low-cost admission to families who are a part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM), encourages people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits.
Who is eligible for discounted museum admission through Museums for All?
Museums for All benefit all SNAP EBT cardholders with valid photo ID. The $2 admission fee is good for up to four individuals per card. It may not be used for school field trips or group visits.
What is the cost?
$2 admission fee per person for up to four people per EBT card. Adults and children are both eligible. Children under 2 receive free admission.
Are patrons with SNAP EBT cards from other states eligible for this rate?
Yes. Museums for All aims to increase museum accessibility for everyone!
What do I need to bring with me to redeem the Museums for All discounted rate?
To redeem Museums for All pricing, please provide the following information at the box office on the day of your visit:
- A valid photo ID
- Your Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card.
I am an EBT card holder. How many people can I bring with me?
While you can bring as many people with you as you would like, the discounted rate of $2 is only valid for up to 4 people per EBT card. Additional people in your party must pay the regular admission rate.
Does Museums for All cover up-charge experiences, IMAX movie tickets and rides?
The Museums for All program reduces the price of Museum admission only. It does not include up-charge experiences like an IMAX film or rides.
Do I use my SNAP EBT card as payment?
No. The SNAP EBT cards are simply used for identification, showing that you are eligible for the Museums for All admission rate. You must pay by cash or credit card.
When can I visit the Museum of Discovery and Science using Museums for All?
Anytime you want! Museums for All is not restricted to certain days or times. You can enjoy the Museum during regular operational hours. See below:
Monday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
We are open every day of the year including Thanksgiving and Christmas except during our Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration (March 15, 2019) and during our Annual Gala (October 26, 2019).
How frequently can I take advantage of the Museums for All discount?
As many times as you’d like! There is no restriction on the number of times you and your family can visit the Museum.
Can I bring a group or school using Museums for All?
No, Museums for All cannot be used for school field trips or group visits. The program is designated for families, four admissions per EBT card.
How many Museums can I visit in the Museums for All program?
More than 300 institutions participate in the initiative, including art museums, children’s museums, science centers, botanical gardens, zoos, history museums, and more. Participating museums are located nationwide, representing more than 40 states. Find a museum at https://museums4all.org/
Does Museums for All cover the cost of parking?
