For more than 40 years, the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) has served as your trusted source for science education in the south Florida community. Our deepest commitment is to create the safest environment possible for our guests, staff, volunteers and animals that call MODS home.
MUSEUM HOURS
MODS is open seven days a week, 362 days a year. We are closed on Thanksgiving day, during our 25th Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration (March 11, 2022) and during our Annual Gala (October 2022).
The Museum hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
AUTONATION® IMAX® THEATER HOURS
The AutoNation® IMAX® Theater also is currently open. Guests are required to wear masks upon entering and exiting the Theater. Face masks are required except when eating and drinking in the auditorium. For showtimes and tickets, please visit our showtimes page.

MODS Discovery Pass Pricing
The MODS Discovery pass is an all-in-one-ticket that includes Museum exhibitions, live science demonstrations and one IMAX documentary film. (NOTE: IMAX documentary film selection must be at the Museum Box Office upon arrival.)

South Florida Residents Discovery Pass Pricing
Tri-County Florida Residents (Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach) must present a valid picture ID for entry with an advanced reservation. Attendants that don’t have a valid picture ID will be required to pay the General Admission price difference. The MODS Discovery pass is an all-in-one-ticket that includes Museum exhibitions, live science demonstrations and one IMAX documentary film. (NOTE: IMAX documentary film selection must be at the Museum Box Office upon arrival.)

PARKING INFORMATION
Parking is available at several locations surrounding the Museum of Discovery & Science. Lots operated by the City of Fort Lauderdale include the Arts & Entertainment Garage and street parking along SW 2nd Street. Parking in these areas is recommended. Rates vary from $1.50-$3.00 per hour. Special event rates may apply.
Additional parking can be found on the east and west sides of the Museum. These lots are operated by private companies. Rates may vary.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT PARK WITHOUT PAYING. The lot operators will tow your car if you do not pay or stay longer than your time on the meter.

The Museum is located in downtown Fort Lauderdale in the Arts & Science District, across from Riverwalk’s Esplanade Park located on New River:
- Take I-95 north (from Miami) or south (from Palm Beach) to Broward Boulevard.
- Drive east on Broward Boulevard to S.W. Fifth Avenue (Commodore Brook Avenue).
- Turn right onto S.W. 5th Avenue.
- The Museum will be on the left with the Arts & Entertainment parking garage on the right.
TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
Click the above image for the Fort Lauderdale Station Tri-Rail website which provides links to free bus shuttle information to downtown Fort Lauderdale along Broward Boulevard. The shuttle bus makes a stop that is one block from the Museum of Discovery and Science.
Click the above image for the Brightline website which provides information on their high-speed train service. Brightline offers full service between Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. The Fort Lauderdale Brightline station is located at Station is located at 101 NW 2nd Avenue — a five to seven minute walk from the Museum of Discovery and Science.
